Can I change the cymbal size / type?
Yes, please contact me to discuss this.

I usually have plenty of cymbal blanks in stock but may need to order specifically, so the more notice you can give, the better.

But yes - all sizes & styles of cymbal can be made, no idea too wacky!
Will the cymbal be any good?
Yes! Participants are always very pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

I pride myself on being able to help elevate the craft while helping you make a professional level cymbal.
Can the cymbal be personalised?
Yes, I have a hand-held engraver, used like holding a pen, or a laser marker which can add graphics / logos / text... please contact me if you have an idea!
Do I need to bring anything?
No, everything is provided - the raw material and tools to turn it into a shiny new cymbal, as well as all necessary PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

If you wish to bring cymbals as reference - please do!
What material will I use?
Only the best Turkish B20 bronze cymbal blanks.

Tried & tested for centuries and the alloy of choice for all of the highest-level cymbals.
Can under-18s take part?
Yes, I ask that a parent / guardian be present for the duration of the session.

So far, my youngest participant was 11 years old and had a great time making a great cymbal!
Can I make more than one cymbal?
Absolutely, people often come to make full sets, please contact me to discuss it and we can work together to make it happen.
Is it wheelchair accessible?
Sorry but no, my workshop is situated above a furniture makers’ workshop, up two flights of stairs.

Please contact me directly with any access issues or requirements.
Can I learn cymbal-making to a deeper level?
Yes! The Make Your Own Cymbal session is designed as a standalone experience, but you’ll learn a lot about how the metal is worked to produce sound.

If you wish to dive further into the craft, I teach cymbal makers all over the world.

I run one-to-one classes online via video call, in-person here in Bristol or anywhere in the world at your own premises.

I teach beginners and pros, and adapt my teaching methods to each student.

Please contact me to enquire further, or sign up for the FREE 30 minute video call which acts as a consultation to see how my teaching can work for you.
