By purchasing the experience, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
The Make Your Own Cymbal experience is an approximately three-hour, one-to-one cymbal-making session at the Collingwood Cymbals workshop in Bristol.
During the session, the participant will be guided through the process of making their own 16-inch crash cymbal from a professional B20 bronze cymbal blank.
No previous cymbal-making or metalworking experience is required.
The exact appearance, sound and characteristics of each finished cymbal will vary. The cymbal is handmade during the experience and is therefore not intended to be identical to a factory-made or commercially manufactured instrument.
The price payable is the price shown on the website at the time of purchase.
Payment must be made in full when purchasing the experience.
Payment is processed through the payment methods offered at checkout.
After purchase, a PDF voucher is made available for download.
The voucher may be printed or sent digitally to the recipient.
Make Your Own Cymbal vouchers do not expire.
A personalised voucher can also be requested after purchase. Please contact me if you would like the recipient’s name or a personal message added.
A session date does not need to be chosen when the experience is purchased.
After purchase, the purchaser or recipient should contact me to arrange a suitable date.
All dates are subject to availability and are agreed directly between us.
The voucher remains valid until the experience has been booked and used.
Once a specific session date has been agreed, that time is reserved exclusively for the participant and I may purchase materials and make other preparations for the session.
If you need to change a booked date, please contact me as soon as possible. I will normally try to arrange an alternative date where reasonably possible.
If you choose to cancel a confirmed session rather than rearrange it, a refund is not normally available. Any amount retained will reflect losses reasonably incurred as a result of the cancellation, which may include materials already purchased and workshop time that cannot reasonably be rebooked.
Exceptional circumstances will be considered individually, so please contact me if something unforeseen prevents you from attending.
Nothing in this section affects any statutory rights you may have.
If you are purchasing as a consumer, you will normally have the right to cancel your online purchase within 14 days of the date on which the contract is entered into, without giving a reason.
To exercise this right, you must tell me clearly that you wish to cancel. You can do this by emailing dave@collingwoodcymbals.com or by writing to the business address above.
If you ask for the experience to take place during the 14-day cancellation period, different rules may apply once the service has begun or a specific dated leisure booking has been agreed.
Where a statutory right to cancel applies, any refund due will be made in accordance with applicable consumer law.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits your statutory consumer rights.
Occasionally I may need to rearrange a session because of illness, workshop problems, circumstances affecting safety, or another event outside my reasonable control.
If this happens, I will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and offer an alternative date.
If I am unable to provide the experience within a reasonable time, you will be entitled to an appropriate refund.
Cymbal making involves workshop machinery, tools, metalworking processes and high noise levels.
Appropriate personal protective equipment will be provided where required, and participants must follow all safety instructions given during the session.
I reserve the right to stop or modify an activity if I believe continuing would be unsafe.
A participant may be asked to leave the workshop if they deliberately ignore safety instructions or behave in a way that places themselves, me or anybody else at risk.
Participants must not attend the workshop while intoxicated or otherwise impaired by alcohol or recreational drugs.
If I reasonably believe that a participant is not able to take part safely, the session may be stopped or postponed.
The participant normally takes home the cymbal they have made during the session.
Because the cymbal is handmade and created partly by the participant, variations in appearance, weight, hammering, finish and sound are a natural part of the experience.
I will provide guidance throughout the process and carry out the service with reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in these terms excludes your statutory rights in relation to services that have not been provided with reasonable care and skill.
Please take reasonable care of your belongings while attending the workshop.
I am not responsible for loss of or damage to personal belongings unless caused by my negligence or where liability cannot legally be excluded.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude any rights you have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable consumer legislation.
The experience may be purchased for another person.
The purchaser is responsible for making the recipient aware of any relevant booking information and these Terms and Conditions.
The recipient may contact me directly to arrange their session.
If you have any accessibility requirements, medical considerations relevant to workshop participation, or anything else that may affect your ability to take part safely and comfortably, please contact me before booking a session date.
I will let you know what reasonable arrangements can be made.
I may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.
The terms applying to your purchase will normally be those in force when your order was placed, unless a change is required by law or is otherwise agreed with you.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also have rights under the laws applicable where you live.
Nothing in these terms prevents you from exercising any mandatory consumer rights available to you.
